OVERVIEW
Upgrade or replace the CD, DVD, combo or SuperDrive.
Step 1 – battery
Place your iBook face down on a flat surface.
Use a coin to turn the battery lock 90 degrees to the right screw.
Lift the battery from the computer.
Step 2 – keyboard
Lift the keyboard towards you release tabs and lift the keyboard until it is released. If the keyboard is not free, use a slotted screwdriver flat to the keypad lock screw turn 180 degrees in both directions and try again. The keyboard above, far away from the screen and place upside down on the surface of the trackpad.
Step 3
Remove the four silver Phillips screws that secure the RAM shield.
Step 4
Do not pull the keyboard cable in the upper part of the logic board, holding the cable as
possible near the connector. Make sure you reconnect the keyboard cable before changing the RAM shield.
Step 5 – small
Use a spudger or a small flat head screwdriver to remove the three
the small rubber feet.
Step 6
Remove the three screws Phillips revealed recently.
Step 7
Using a spudger or small head screwdriver flat to raise the three
metal rings that held the rubber bumpers.
Step 8
Remove the three hex screws with a Torx T8 screwdriver. The shorter screw is in the center of the computer.
Step 9
Remove the two screws from 4.5 mm Phillips head on both sides of the battery contacts.
Step 10
Take a deep breath. Come difficult times, but we promise you small brackets. Press the thin edges of the small surrounding compartment battery, fold beyond tabs and lift up to release this little corner.
Step 11
There is a crack in the wall of the battery compartment that blocks the
Lowercase letters in place. Use a small flat-head screwdriver, remove it
the bottom slot and pull the bottom of the case to release the location of the tabs holding.
Step 12
Run a spudger along the seam between the lowercase and capital letters at the front of the computer to release the tabs to secure at the bottom of the box. Pull the bottom of the case and continue to use the spudger as

Continue to run the spudger around the corner before right. There are two tabs in the side port of the computer, near the corner of the front and the other close to the sound output port.
Step 14
There are three tabs in the optical drive that must be released
before the tiny flakes. Drag the spudger at the bottom

computer until you hear three different clicks.
Step 15

Step 21
Cord around the optical unit of the defeat, remove the tape as needed. Disconnect the cable from DC logic board and angle plate DC out of its compartment.
Step 22 – uppercase
Screw the two 3 mm Phillips head on the left side of the battery tray.
Step 23
We recommend that you place equipment in a soft cloth of this issue to avoid damage to the logic board. Turn over the computer and open

Remove the 7 screws following the edges of the keyboard area.

Step 27

Lift the shield in the upper part of the right side, is the top left corner, which can be hung on the metal frame.
Step 30 – optical drive remove 4 screws of the following: a 3 mm Phillips in the channel between the optical drive and the fan.
Two 6 mm Phillips of the upper and lower part of the drive bezel.
6 Mm Phillips with a clamp that extends from the
corner bottom left of the player.
Step 31
Use a spudger to lift the shank of the optical switch Board
drive, remove the tape if necessary.
Step 32
It is a diagram of the connector clip tape that log on to the next step. (1) With your fingernails, grasp the bar from locking on each side and pull up a small amount (about 1/16 inches or 2 mm).
(2) On the withdrawal of the locking bar, drag the cable to the connector.
Step 33
Release the optical drive from the Ribbon clamp as described above. Slide
the optical drive Ribbon connector.
Step 34
Lift the optical drive of the metallic structure.
Step 35 – optical drive replacement
Remove the two Phillips screws from the bracket and
cable to the back of the optical drive.
Step 36
Use a spudger to lift the white cable optical drive connector
from the top of the optical drive, remove the tape if necessary.
Step 37
Remove the single screw bezel on the front of the
the optical drive. This screw is greater than that both the
the media and cable at the rear of the car.
Step 38
The area has several small, fragile tabs that will be case easily.
Use a spudger well to press the two tabs at the top of the bezel. Step 39
Attach the optical drive on its side and press tab to
Release the bezel from the unit.
Step 40
Turn over the car and Phillips remove two screws from the
support on the side of the road. These screws are only partially threaded. If you have a CD or something stuck in your
